NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: Revising and extending a six-month Moratorium May 15, 2023 at 7:00 pm
VILLAGE OF WASHINGTONVILLE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Village Board of the Village of Washingtonville, Orange County, New York, on May 15, 2023 at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard, at the Village Hall, 9 Fairlawn Drive, Washingtonville, New York 10992 to consider the adoption of a Local Law revising and extending a six-month moratorium prohibiting the review and approval of certain land development applications in the Village of Washingtonville.
Said Local Law will be made available for review in the Village Clerk’s Office, 9 Fairlawn Drive, Washingtonville, New York 10992 and may be examined by any interested party from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday in advance of the meeting after May 8, 2023.

The Village of Washingtonville is currently seeking volunteer members for the Village Beautification Committee. About Your Planning Board
The Village of Washingtonville Planning Board (“VPB”) is made up of Village residents who volunteer their time to serve on the VPB. There are two (2) scheduled meetings per month and a minimum of four (4) hours of annual training requirements.
All VPB members are appointed by the Village of Washingtonville Board of Trustees.
All VPB meetings are open to the public unless under an executive session or an attorney-client session, which would be announced as such. When practicable the VPB meetings are recorded and posted on the Village of Washingtonville YouTube channel for public viewing.
The VPB has an attorney and an engineer that act as consultants and advisors.
Every project follows a process to ensure that it complies with all applicable federal, state, county and local laws, rules, codes and regulations. Typically, the Attorney and Engineer for the VPB sit at the table to the right of the VPB during the meeting.
The applicant, applicant’s engineers, attorneys and/or advisors sit to the left of the VPB.
Public participation is limited to public comments during scheduled public hearings. Comments are requested to be limited to 3 minutes per person. The comments must be specific to the project that the public hearing is being held for.
Public comments submitted in written form are distributed to all VPB members for review and consideration.
Submitting written comments is strongly encouraged, As they can be used to form questions for the applicants and engineers.
Located on the long table to the right of the VPB panel you will find information about current projects. Information on all projects before the board can be FOILED via a form found at the Village Clerk’s Office.
Some projects have their information posted on online portals that may be accessed via the Village website.
Please inquire with the Village Building Department or the Planning Board Chairperson regarding whether a project has documents available online and how to access same.

The Village of Washingtonville is seeking resumes regarding the opportunity to join a small, welcoming community as Deputy Village Clerk. Main responsibilities include assisting the Village Clerk with various matters such as clerical work, agenda preparation, posting of legal notices and additional responsibilities to be discussed.
Municipal Deputy Clerk experience or in municipal government for at least five years is preferred.
